I was very sorry to hear about your brother David. He was one of those unsung players that helped launch Guilderland soccer from nothing into becoming something in high school soccer. Life is so short and I have fond memories of the kind of person he was.

In 1965, when you’re a timid, skinny tenth-grader playing varsity soccer for the first time, a graceful, elegant senior starter could be pretty intimidating. Not so with Dave Campisi. He was cool, kind and oh so talented, exactly the mentor you would hope to find. I was heartbroken when I learned of his passing this past Saturday. I will forever be thankful for the honor and privilege of playing with such a fine leader. Dave played alongside Lyn Edinger and Bobby Austin, two great people with similar qualities. The three comprised a tremendous defense that always covered your mistakes and made you feel like you belonged. Bless you Dave.

Mike and Family — My deepest condolences.

With sympathy to the loved ones of David Campisi. Through Community Caregivers, I worked with David over the past two years typing his manuscripts. I will sorrily miss him, his gentle nature, intelligence, perspective on life and concern for others. It was a privilege to know him. Sincerely, Nancy W. Alexander
