
ALBANY – Benjamin James Armento, 54, of Albany, died Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at his home. He was born in Albany on August 24, 1958, son of the late James Armento, and Catherine T. Armento (Smith), of Albany. Benjamin was a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. He lived most of his adult life in San Francisco, CA, moving back to Albany one year ago to reconnect with his family. He loved all animals, especially his two cats.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister Joanne Coffey (Thomas) and niece Jillian of Slingerlands, his sister Beth Dawson (John) and nephew Nicholas of Rotterdam; and his true friend of many years Anthony Nico of San Francisco, CA.
A memorial service will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Saturday at noon. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Saturday beginning at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the AIDS Council of Northeastern New York, 927 Broadway, Albany, NY 12207.
