
TROY – Arthur Santo Couser, 64, of Troy, formerly of Albany, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 7, 2020 at the Cooperstown Rehabilitation Center with his devoted family by his side. Art was born in Albany, and lived there for many years before moving to Troy. He was a graduate of Vincentian Institute and attended Hudson Valley Community College. He was employed for many years by the Eden Park Nursing Home in Troy, and by Catholic Charities. Art was a loving father, son, brother and friend who displayed grace and dignity in the face of the many challenges he encountered in his adult life. He enjoyed cooking, reading, spending time with his cats, and word puzzles.
Art is survived by his children Rebecca Couser (Andrew Sagarin) of Troy, and Benjamin Couser (Megan Adrian) of Coxsackie; his former wife Barbara Peter Couser; his mother Carmela Couser of Albany; his aunt Mary Ann LoGiudice, RSM, of Albany; his siblings Anne Marie Couser (William Kuchinski) of Delmar, Michael Couser (Susan) of Chapin, SC, Kathryn Couser of Albany, Genevieve Couser (Stephen Dominiak) of Albany, and Thomas Couser (Dara Cole) of Marblehead, MA; and by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
