ROTTERDAM – Anthony J. Martinese, Jr., 76, of Rotterdam, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Ellis Hospital.  Anthony was born in Albany and raised in Colonie.  He lived in Colonie for a number of years, and for many years in Rotterdam.  He was a self-employed contractor, and for over 30 years employed by William M. Larned & Sons, Inc.  Anthony enjoyed walking, spending time with his friends, especially over a cup of coffee at Stewarts, and being there for the milestones in the lives of his grandchildren.  Everyone enjoyed his colorful sense of humor.

Anthony is survived by his children Carolyn Raible (William E. Jr.) of Berne, and Anthony J. Martinese, III, of Glenmont; his former wife Carmela Martinese of Glenmont; his sister Maryann Pelletier (John) of Colonie; his sister in law Mary Martinese of Loudonville; his grandchildren William E. Raible, III, M.D. (Lacey Ragule), and Christopher A. Raible (Christine Wadlington); and by several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents Anthony J. Martinese, Sr., and Mary Camarota Martinese; and by his brother Bernard Martinese.

A celebration of life service will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Tuesday morning at 10:00.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Monday from 4-7 pm.  Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.  The family suggests memorial contributions to The Community Hospice at: The Community Hospice Foundation, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144.  To leave a message of condolence for the family, send a sympathy card, or obtain directions to the funeral home, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com.
