
ALBANY—Anna M. O’Connor, 86, of Albany passed away Friday, September 12, 2014 under the care of The Community Hospice at Albany Memorial Hospital. Anna was born in New York City, but lived most of her life in Albany. Anna was a graduate of St. Ann’s High School and Albany Business College. For the past ten years she lived at Avila, where she participated in many activities and made special friends.
Anna was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a long-time volunteer with Ladies of Charity, Catholic Charities, Albany Institute of History and Art, Albany Academy, and Avila. Anna was a communicant of the former Holy Cross Church for many years, and served as a Eucharistic Minister there and at Avila.
Anna was predeceased by her husband David W. O’Connor, and her brothers James and Thomas Curto. She is survived by her children Patricia Gillivan (John) of Colonie, William O’Connor (Michele) of Albany, Joseph O’Connor (Lucia) of Westford, MA, Eileen Graziano (Tony) of Denver, CO, and James O’Connor (Michelle) of Pelham Manor; her grandchildren Kara Sokolowski (Jim), Connor Gillivan, Chris O’Connor (Sally), Trisha O’Connor, Garret and Kevin O’Connor, David, Chris, and Stephanie Graziano, and Emily, James, Teddy, and Sarah Jane O’Connor; and great grandchildren Christopher, Jr. and Carly O’Connor.
Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany Wednesday morning at 9:30, and from there to St. Pius X Church, Crumite Rd., Loudonville at 10:30. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4-7 pm. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, Ossining.
