Alfreda E. Matulewicz

ALTAMONT – Alfreda E. Pruskowski Matulewicz, 91, died Sunday, December 2, 2012 at her home.   Alfreda was born in Schenectady, and lived in the town of Guilderland since the age of ten.  She was employed by the New York Telephone Co. and by General Electric Co.  She also served as a volunteer at the VA Hospital in Albany, was a member of MOCA at the hospital, and was a member and Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post #8692 in Colonie, a member and Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post #5294 in Altamont, and a member and Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of Elks Lodge #2480 in Guilderland.  She also was a communicant of St. Matthew’s Church in Voorheesville and Christ the King Church in Guilderland.

Alfreda was predeceased by her husband Edward H. Matulewicz in 1991.  She is survived by her son James E. Matulewicz (Lori) of Voorheesville; her sister Diana O’Hare of Guilderland; her grandchildren Wendy Matulewicz, James S. Matulewicz (Tresa), and Joseph Matulewicz (Chiharu); the mother of her grandchildren Nancy Matulewicz; her great grandchildren Emilia, Edward, Mia, Alexis and Ahren; and by several nieces and nephews.  She was also predeceased by her brothers Stanley, Edwin and Matthew Pruskowski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Christ the King Church, Sumter Ave., Guilderland, on Thursday at 11:00am.  Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Thursday morning beginning at 8:00am.  Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.  To leave a message of condolence for the family, send a sympathy card, or obtain directions to the funeral home, please visit www.HansFuneralHome.com.
