Condolence from Rich and Karen Maikels and Edna Hornachek on January 3rd, 2013 7:20 am

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Al. Rich remembers all of golf games they had and one in particular for the club championship. Your dad beat him on the last hole, the last putt by a foot. What a great time they had together. Rich had great respect for him. My mother Edna worked with your dad at the telephone company and thought he was such a nice gentleman. She thinks he had alot to do with finding her a different job 50 years ago instead of being let go after she was hired as a telephone operator and found out she was to short and couldn’t reach the switch board. She says he was always the kind of man that did wonderful things like that and never wanted anyone to know. Our prayers are with you and you family.

Tom, so sorry for your loss. You have mentioned your father often in our conversations. It sounds like he was a very accomplished man as well as a great golfer as you have mentioned. I’m sure that you are very proud that he taught you the game of golf that you enjoy and play so well.

Condolence from Ken & Connie Doran on January 3rd, 2013 12:35 pm

Dear Huba Family, Al has been our beloved friend since the foundation of our Parish of Christ the King. He & Ken were fellow officers of the now- defunct Men’s Group, worked together on the Bishop’s Fund, on organizing annual retreats at the Jesuit Retreat House, Auriesville, & drove together to monthly meetings of the Nocturnal Adoration Society in Guilderland and in Albany. We have prayed for him and you throughout his failing health, and always will. We’re enrolling him in the Salvatorian Perpetual Mass Assn. which assures that he will be prayed for eternally at a special daily Mass at their motherhouse in Rome, Italy. Chins up, everyone! Love to all, Connie & Ken Doran

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your father. He had a very long and healthy life. Our family has fond memories of him from our years of growing up with all of you on Hanes St. He was always so friendly to all of the kids on the block. He had a big heart and it was evident to us even as kids that the loves of his life were for God, his family and then golf. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. Cherish the memories. Condolence from PAm Eldridge on January 12th, 2013 10:08 am

Dear Marie and Family,
I was saddened ti hear about your dad. The struggle in the end was hard for all I am sure. No matter how long you prepared yourselves, your are always awakened emotionally at that final moment. I have looked at the wonderful video you prepared on his life and all the joys shared by family and friends. He was lucky to have spent so long with us but now may he rest in peace with the Lord, may he be reunited with all those who have gone before him and may they share together in the eternal gift of God.

My prayers are with you all…..Pam
