You were a brother, friend and uncle to this family. You were my best man at my wedding and I couldn’t have chosen a better man. We weren’t blood but we were family. You were a selfless friend with a massive personality and that’s what made you special. We loved the times we spent together, loved all the late night chats and the banter. Loved the laughs you always had with my kids. We will miss you my friend, rest in peace Al. Rest easy… We will always remember you and love you dearly. Our deepest condolences to Anne and the rest of the family during this sad time. All our love Brian, Patricia, Oliver and Sofia.

Anne- my deepest sympathies . This is such sad news and I’m very sorry for your loss. Al was Justin’s good friend in London and they went to the olympics in 2012 together . Al always brought so many gifts . In 2013 we visited Al in Moscow and again his hospitality knew no end. Al had a big heart. A life well lived .

What a loss, to so many people who taught, hung out with, and cared deeply for Al!
As a Professor, I found him challenging at times, as a mom (I have 3 sons) I definitely think of Al as sort of being “one of my own” in a way. I’ve missed him since he graduated, and definitely I will be an outreach point to any of our “class”.
    Farewell, Dear Friend.
