ALBANY – Albert Darboghosian, 81, of Albany, died Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Albany Memorial Hospital.  Albert was born in Albany, the son of the late Carl and Lucy Darboghosian.  He was a graduate of Philip Schuyler High School, and was employed by the New York State Board of Parole for 40 years.  Albert was afflicted with polio as a child, which disabled him, but he never looked for any handouts or assistance from any government agencies, and was always self supporting.  He didn’t drink, smoke or gamble, but liked to eat and to ask personal questions at holiday dinners.  He was also a devoted fan of the New York Yankees.

Albert is survived by his nephews Kevin McManus (Celene) and Michael McManus (Mariola).  He was predeceased by his sister Rose McManus and her husband Dermot McManus, and by his nephew Patrick McManus.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff of the 4th Floor of Albany Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care of Albert.
