ALBANY – Julia Teresa Mannarino, 96, of Albany, died Monday, September 19, 2011 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center. Mrs. Mannarino was born in Albany, the daughter of the late Rocco and Rosemary Tutino Pasqualino. She was employed for a time as a seamstress, and for many years was a communicant of the former St. Margaret Mary’s Church in Albany.
Mrs. Mannarino was predeceased by her husband Joseph J. Mannarino, Jr. She is survived by her son Joseph J. Mannarino (Georgia Carol) of Albany; her daughter Rosemary P. Lisky (Michael Jr.) of Schenectady; her grandchildren Deborah Coyle, Joseph R. Mannarino (Donna), Lisa Finnegan (Peter), Julie Gregory (Jonathan), Michael Lisky, III, and Jeramy Lisky; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Mary Commisso, and Catherine Coscione; and by her brother Dominick Pasqualino.
The family would like to extend their special thanks to the staff of the Daughters of Sarah Memory Enhancement Unit for the loving care they gave to Mama, especially Tina, Gwen, Jason and Liz.
Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Thursday morning at 8:15, and from there to All Saints Catholic Church, Homestead St., Albany at 9:00. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. ALBANY – Barbara A. Wood, 65, of Albany, died Monday, September 12, 2011 in the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital. Barbara was born in Albany and lived in the area all her life. She was a 1964 graduate of Albany High School, and held positions at Sterling Winthrop in Rensselaer, Job Corps in Glenmont and the Bethlehem School District. After these positions, she was employed by the Schaffer Library at the Albany Medical College, then the library of the Albany College of Pharmacy. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her cats, as well as traveling to Maine.
Barbara is survived by her beloved husband David H. Wemple; her son Michael Wood; her brothers and sisters Beth Hunter (Donald) of Bolingbrook, IL, Philip Caprood (Karen Susan) of Colonie, Christine Chavez (Raul) of Willits, CA, and David Caprood (Jerry Cheruka) of Albany; her aunts Linda Zampier (John) of Westmere, and Beth Trimble of Suffolk, VA; and by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home prior to the service from 4-7 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205; or the Catskill Animal Sanctuary www.casanctuary.org , 316 Old Stage Rd., Saugerties, NY 12477. Priscilla (Jill) Shepard Belser

ALBANY – Priscilla (Jill) Shepard Belser passed away on Sunday, August 28th at her home in Albany, NY. Born August 12, 1943, in Xenia, Ohio, Jill was the oldest child of John and Suzanne Shepard. She spent most of her early life in California, moving to upstate New York with her family in 1960, graduating from Saratoga High School in 1961. She married in 1962, and raised three children, living in Lexington, Kentucky, and later in Saratoga Springs.
Jill helped to establish the Rape Crisis Hotline in Saratoga Springs in the 1970’s, and later worked for many years at Four Winds Psychiatric Center. She earned a BA degree from Empire State College with concentrations in Psychology and Sociology.
Her enthusiasm for food and cooking led her to establish FE Bunter Greengrocer in Saratoga the early 1980′s, and she was a skilled cook, with a special interest in the food of southern India.
Jill had a keen intellect, and was an avid reader and puzzle solver. Conversations with Jill were full of fresh perspectives and questions, and lightened by her wit and humor. Friends and family will miss the honesty, wisdom, and generosity that guided her in her own life, as well as in her role as supporter and problem-solver for the people she cared about.
Pre-deceased by her father in 1980, her mother in 2010, and her husband Joseph Belser in 1999, Jill is survived by her sons Peter and Michael Burbank, her daughter Kathy Burbank, her son-in-law Steve Wacksman, and her grandchildren Michaela, Zack, Conner, Madison, and Allison. She is also survived by her sisters Margie Shepard, Judy Waldera (Tom), and Rebecca Shepard (John Battenfield), and her brother John Shepard (Eileen).
Jill volunteered as a bereavement counselor with Hospice, and was a Hospice patient through the last eight months of her life. Her family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to Community Hospice of Albany at 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY, 12205. There will be a private service at a later date.
